Pune, October 8, 2025 — The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced that water supply will be disrupted in most parts of the city tomorrow. This is due to emergency repair work being carried out at pumping stations and water purification plants in Parvati, Warje and Pune Cantonment.

The affected areas include central Pune (the peths), Sinhagad Road, Shivajinagar, Deccan Gymkhana, Pune-Satara Road, Pune-Solapur Road, Pashan, Baner, Aundh, Balewadi, Khadki, Warje, Erandwane, and many more societies and colonies.

According to Nandkishore Jagtap, chief engineer of civic water works, both electrical and civil repairs will be done on Thursday. The supply is expected to return on Friday, though initial pressure may remain lower than normal.

City residents say they will face hardship, especially those without large water storage. Many homes in older parts of Pune already depend heavily on regular tap supply.

In related news, in Pimpri-Chinchwad (PCMC area), a main pipeline in Nigdi was damaged during metro construction, affecting water supply in many zones. Repairs were done quickly, and supply was largely restored the next day.

Authorities urge Pune citizens to store water in advance and use water carefully from tonight. PMC also reminds that once the line work is over, water pressure may take time to stabilize fully.

Though unplanned, such emergency maintenance is crucial to prevent bigger breakdowns. Still, many Punekars hope the civic body will issue timely alerts and improve coordination so that everyday life is less disrupted.
